Alright, I finally got the airbrush dusted off. This is just the base coat to be able to install the hatches and engine grill. I used straight Tamiya NATO Green. Looks way too dark doesn't it? The bottom hull is base coated with Khaki Drab and Flat Earth. Some boxes from MiniArm. BTW, they are releasing an ammo and case set for every possible WWII Soviet rounds this year - cool!
Here is a figure. Hornet head and Tristar body.

More soon.

Now the basecoat is in place. Simple NATO green with some gloss clear medium to add some shine. Looks better. I started using Tamiya Lacquer thinner and it works great. The tracks are painted with Model Master Burnt Umber. The bottom of the hull and backs of wheels are painted with Tamiya Dark Earth with some Flat medium. The Tarp is Vall Soviet Uniform color.
The model looks darker in person. I think the highlights from the strobes make it seem lighter.

Next some shading and fading with the airbrush. Then detail painting.

OK, some shading and highlights with NATO green mixed with black and then flat yellow. Very subtle change, but lighter overall.

Got a few thing done. The turret got some nice Mig dry transfers. I toned them down with a little green acrylic wash.
The light is attached.
The tarp and belts are finished.

A little work of my fisrt fig. Not great ah??? It's a start.
